National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) legend Ed "The Ace" McCulloch had already earned his nickname when he joined forces with Art Whipple to create their 1971 'Cuda (souped up Plymouth Barracuda) Funny Car. (See the East vs. West Funny Car Spectacular poster on this site.) In this 1972 advertisement, Whipple and McCullogh tell about winning with Pennzoil. In 1987 Art founded Whipple Superchargers in Fresno, California.
