Job Whipple House

Job Whipple House

Job Whipple House

This interestingly colored house was owned by Job and his son Stephen4 Whipple (Job3, Eleazer2, John1) from about 1715, when Job built it, to the middle of the nineteenth century when Stephen's grandchildren sold it to the Cullen family. Stephen was a wealthy woolen manufacturer and statesman. It is now the Whipple-Cullen B&B located at 99 Old River Road, just east of Limerock. The Cullen's welcome a visit from any of the Whipple family. Ask Mr. Cullen to point out the name of the Whipple child who carved his name on one of the attic's rafters. He has written an informative history of Job's family. This house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
